The Agreement Between The Government Of Malaysia And The Government Of The People's Republic Of China On Framework Agreement To Facilitate Mutual Recognition In Academic Higher Education Qualifications


The Government of Malaysia and the Government of the People's Republic of China (PRC) signed the "Framework Agreement to Facilitate Mutual Recognition in Academic Higher Education Qualifications" (the Agreement) on April 28, 2011.

Objective

The main objective of the Agreement is to facilitate mutual recognition of higher education qualifications, promote cooperation in higher education and facilitate academic mobility between both countries.

Recognition of Degree Qualifications

Degrees (bachelor, master and doctorate) awarded by recognized Higher Education Providers (HEPs) in Malaysia and China are recognized by both governments. Application of this recognition is also subject to the existing regulatory undertakings and requirements of the HEIs, professional bodies, government agencies and non-governmental organizations in both countries.

Date of Enforcement

The Agreement entered into force six (6) months after it was signed.
