Joint Statement Of Confidence Of Higher Education Evaluation And Accreditation Council Of Taiwan And Malaysian Qualifications Agency On Each Other's Quality Assurance Outcomes

The Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and the Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Council of Taiwan (HEEACT) signed a Joint Statement of Confidence on Each Other's Quality Assurance Outcomes (SoC) on July 20, 2012. By signing the SoC, both agencies expressed their mutual confidence in each other's quality assurance outcomes which are, in the main, in the form of accreditation decisions made by both agencies.

The SoC covers bachelor-level programmes and qualifications accredited by each agency. It shall serve as an advice to relevant organisations on the state of academic quality of these programmes and qualifications to facilitate recognition, acceptance, confidence and exchanges. However, the SoC respects the autonomy of relevant organisations to set additional academic and non-academic requirements as deemed appropriate for their specific purposes of undertakings.

The SoC entered into force on June 20, 2011, which was the date of the signing of the Memorandum of Arrangement between MQA and HEEACT.
