
The Association of Quality Assurance Agencies of the Islamic World (AQAAIW) Executive Board Meeting 1/2012 was recently organized in Melbourne, Australia on April 19, 2012. The meeting was attended by five of AQAAIW Executive Board members from Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Bahrain and Turkey.
The meeting was held with the purpose to discuss matters relating to the proposed AQAAIW Strategic Plan 2012-2015, the governing principles of AQAAIW, the proposal on the 2012 AQAAIW Seminar and Roundtable Meeting, and the report on the analysis of the AQAAIW Data Gathering Form and Questionnaire. Also discussed were future activities of AQAAIW and membership applications from Quality Assurance Agency, Pakistan, Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Lebanon and University of Palestine.
The meeting agreed to approve the application of Quality Assurance Agency, Pakistan as a Full Member, whilst the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Lebanon and University of Palestine were accepted as Associate Members. The meeting also agreed to hold an AQAAIW Internship Programme for young quality assurance officials of the Islamic countries which is tentatively to be held in Kuala Lumpur in September 2012.
