A Memorandum of Arrangement (MoA) was duly signed on April 19, 2012 between the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), United Kingdom at the Novotel Melbourne St Kilda, Australia.
The MoA was signed by Dato' Dr. Syed Ahmad Hussein, Chief Executive Officer of MQA and Mr Anthony McClaran, Chief Executive of QAA. The signing was witnessed by Prof Zita Mohd Fahmi, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Quality Assurance) of MQA and Ms Carolyn Campbell, Head of Networks and Partnerships of QAA.
MQA has established a close relationship with QAA since the early years of operation of its predecessor, the National Accreditation Board (Lembaga Akreditasi Negara, LAN). LAN and QAA had previously signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2005.
The objectives of the MoA are to further strengthen the long relationship between the two agencies and to fortify existing cooperation through, amongst others, exchange of information, exchange of experts and staff, mutual confidence and collaboration in future quality assurance and accreditation activities.
