MQA accreditation is one of the major considerations given by international students before they enrol in a programme. The relevant authorities in foreign countries will also consider sponsoring their students to pursue accredited programmes which have been recognised by the Malaysian government.
The development of MQR is an initiative to help students, parents, funding agencies and employers to obtain information on quality-assured programmes and qualifications in Malaysian higher education institutions. The accurate information in MQR is important to enable these students to make an informed choice
in order to avoid future problems.
It is important for students to know whether a particular programme has been accredited by MQA before embarking on a programme. This is important because an accredited programme has many advantages such as sponsorship by funding agencies, opportunity for further studies with credit transfer or employment in the public service.
Last but not least, I hope the information provided in the MQR will benefit all important stakeholders, both local and international.
Thank you.
