Y.B Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Minister of Higher
Education, has currently appointed Tan Sri Dato’ Dr. Mohamed
Salleh Mohamed Yasin as the Chairman of the Council of the
Malaysian Qualifications Agency, replacing Tan Sri Dr.
Muhammad Rais Abdul Karim who ended his service on 31 October
2009.

The Roundtable Meeting of Quality Assurance Agencies of OIC Member Countries held in Kuala Lumpur on 15th November 2009 / 27th Zul-Qaadah 1430 unanimously adopted the Kuala Lumpur Declaration on the establishment of the Association of Quality Assurance Agencies of Countries of the Islamic World.

Memorandum of Cooperation between Malaysian Qualifications
Agency and Australian Universities Quality Agency

The Malaysian
Qualifications Agency (MQA) has entered into a Memorandum of
Cooperation with the Australian Universities Quality Agency (AUQA)
on 10 August 2009 with the aim to strengthen a collaboration in
the area of quality assurance and exchange of auditors and
officers of both agencies. |

The 2009 AQAN
Roundtable was held in Bangkok, Thailand from 20 to 22 March
2009. The Bangkok Roundtable elected Dato’ Dr. Syed Ahmad
Hussein, Chief Executive Officer of Malaysian Qualifications
Agency (MQA) as AQAN first President. It also agreed that
the MQA as acts as the Secretariat for AQAN.

The Malaysian
Qualifications Agency (MQA) had the pleasure of hosting four
separate groups of interns from the Brunei Darussalam
National Accreditation Council (BDNAC) starting from 12
January until 12 February 2009. Through an official request
by Datin Hajah Khadijah Haji Akbar, the Secretary General of
BDNAC, a four days programme with different themes for each
group was developed by the MQA.

TYT Duta Ireland ke Malaysia, Thailand dan Laos, Eugene Hutchinson, telah melawat Lembaga Akreditasi Negara
(LAN) pada 17 Oktober lalu. Dalam lawatan tersebut, beliau telah bertemu dengan Prof Dato’ Dr Mohamed Salleh
Mohamed Yasin, Pengerusi merangkap Ketua Eksekutif serta dua orang pegawai kanan LAN.

Pada 2 dan 6 Oktober lalu, LAN telah mengadakan pertemuan ramah mesra dengan tiga persatuan utama IPTS iaitu
Persatuan Kebangsaan IPTS Bumiputra Malaysia (PKIBM), Malaysian Association of Private Colleges and
Universities (MAPCU) and National Association of Private Educational Institutions (NAPEI).
